Use D-1 and TJ-1 throughout. Practice first using the single down stroke, then put in three trokes without breaking the time. Be sure to get the strokes evenly. This is not so difficult if the hand is kept loose and the wrist high.
The Half Stroke.
The half stroke, as its name implies, has only one half the time of a full stroke and is mainly used in playing rag-time or other syncopated accomÂpaniments.
This is the most difficult of all the strokes to comprehend, but once mas-tered will be very easy to play.
In using the half stroke, strike only two or three strings ;the ones next the hand.
